Hazards of Dirty Kitchen Ventilation Systems

Even the most efficient extraction filters cannot remove all traces of grease and dirt from the air. Over time, a layer of grease and dirt is deposited on the surfaces of ventilation ducts, canopies and extractor fans. Not only does this cause an environmental health hazard by providing a breeding ground for bacteria and foul odours, it also reduces the efficiency of your extraction system and is a major fire risk.
It is therefore essential to carry our regular cleaning of your kitchen extraction and ventilation systems as determined by an appropriate risk assessment. Failure to do so could lead to a breach of the Environmental health regulations and could invalidate your fire insurance policy.
Shine Hygiene Services  is a BESA member and part of the Ventilation Hygiene Elite Scheme and provides TR19 compliant ventilation cleaning services for your commercial  kitchen. Our kitchen extract cleaning service removes grease and carbon deposits from your extractor fan, kitchen canopy and ducting in line with BESA’s TR19 Grease guidelines. A post-clean verification TR19 compliant report is provided as evidence of your compliance and includes photographs, recommendations and a cleaning frequency calculation using BESA’s guidelines.
We also offer a kitchen ventilation system monitoring service for customers who are unsure if their system requires deep cleaning, or would like a report to demonstrate their current compliance with the guidelines. Our technicians take photographs and measure the levels of grease in your canopy, ductwork and ventilation system to include in the report, alongside recommendations and observations.
